Any basic search will turn up a chronological and current list of her novels and novellas, so why pay for this list? Save your money and download a PDF file! It is FREE!

Recommended to fans who are hungry for more By Parka [[VIDEOID:63df92a39b0975b6748c05155164809e]]Fans who want to know more and go behind the scenes of Hannibal television series will be delighted with this book.The Art and Making of Hannibal looks at the production of the series from conceptualisation to the detailed analysis of the characters and stories.The artworks are mainly concepts of the murders, 3D visualisations of rooms (e.g. Hannibal's office), sketches of dishes by Hannibal and that's about all. Really not too much.There are lots of behind-the-scenes photographs that show how the props are made, or scenes are staged. Some photos are pretty gruesome even though you know that they are prosthetics and effects.The insightful writeup goes further to explain the characters and stories, and that's easily the highlight of this book. You'll get a glimpse into the minds of the characters and also producers and writers of the show. The book covers up to season 2.Highly recommended for the fans.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.)

Wait for the next edition, which will hopefully have fewer typos, better color contrast, and more information By Shira Lipkin For a book that purports to be about the art of Hannibal, this is bafflingly poorly designed. In many places, the gray text on a black background is unreadable. The picture quality is muddy throughout. And it hasn't been proofread at all, much less copyedited. This is not a professional product.From a text-only angle, I'm just surprised that it contains so little about the costume design (which is so clearly and painstakingly planned - Margot Verger's high collars in every scene but one, Freddie Lounds never showing her hands) and almost nothing about the work of food stylist Janice Poon. The extensive content regarding the show's visual effects saved me from giving this only one star, but there's so much going on in Hannibal besides visual effects. This book is truly disappointing, and I hope Titan recalls and redesigns it. I encourage fans to wait for the next edition, which will hopefully have fewer typos, better color contrast, and more information.

Beautiful, but not comprehensive By Elise This is a beautiful book.The pages are thick and glossy, and often more of the page is covered with rich, high-quality pictures than words. There are pictures of characters, food, concept art, prosthetic corpses, and sets. Also, there are some behind-the-scenes goodies too, like candids of the film crew bustling around and detailed architectural layouts for some of the sets as well as plenty of interesting facts, like how they chose Hannibal’s wardrobe and how the show was conceived in the first place. Every main character has a page or two of quick summary and brief insight.This is also a short book. 175 pages is not enough. There is basically no talk of the symbolism, metaphor-heavy dialogue, hallucination/nightmare scenes (the wendigo and ravenstag are nowhere to be found), and deeper character insight. “I see him as one of those pitiful things sometimes born in hospitals. They feed it, keep it warm, but they don't put it on machines. They let it die. But he doesn't die. He looks normal. Nobody can tell what he is.” I’m more interested in what that means about Hannibal and how Will perceives him than in how much Hannibal’s comfy office chair cost. There is also no mention of Brian Reitzell, the composer for Hannibal. The soundtrack is bizarre and unnerving and unlike anything else I have ever heard. The guy’s innovative work for the show made it into Wired magazine but he didn’t make it into The Art and Making of Hannibal?I think this book could easily have been twice as long. In my opinion it should have been. It’s a nice buy for fans, but be aware that it definitely does not encompass all that can be discussed about the show. I gave it four stars because what’s there is good. I just wish there was more.

A wonderful supplement to the DUMMIES's main geometry book By Robert Moore When I was in high school I was quite good at math, but I was also a bit of a jerk and ended up with belligerent relationships with all of my math teachers, with the result that I took as few such courses as possible. And I have regretted it ever since. There have been numerous passages in economics and physics books where I've been moving through the text, only to run afoul of mathematical formulas. Although quite good despite myself in algebra and geometry, I stopped as soon as I mad met the minimal math requirements.Recently I've been trying to correct the lapses of my misspent youth and have been trying to not merely relearn the math I once knew but to learn, eventually, trig and calculus. I want to be able to read a book on the conflict between Newton and his followers and Leibniz and his followers, and on a simpler level, those formulas in economics texts. To this end I have found such books as GEOMETRY FOR DUMMIES and ALGEBRA FOR DUMMIES quite helpful. Now, there is room for confusion here. If you look at the cover of the book under review here, you might think its title is also GEOMETRY FOR DUMMIES. Setting aside misleading formatting, the title of this book is 1,001 GEOMETRY PRACTICE PROBLEMS FOR DUMMIES. In short, it is a supplement to the main book, which is GEOMETRY FOR DUMMIES. Second Edition, by Mark Ryan (ISBN: 0470089466). You really need to get that book before this one, but once you are working your way through its pages, this book will prove invaluable, allowing you to work extensively putting what you have learned in the other book to practice.The great thing about this volume is that it not only provide 1,001 geometry problems, it provides both answers and explanations. Furthermore, it provides access to hundreds of additional problems online, from easy to difficult.I am not yet able to do trig and calculus, but I've regained a lot of what I once knew. I'm retiring to part time work next month and in the fall I plan on taking some math courses to further hone my skills. Maybe a year from now I'll be preparing to take trig and maybe a year after that calculus. And if I do indeed get there, in large part it will have much to do with the DUMMIES's guides.

By Mike L I bought this book for my son who is very inquisitive and wants to build upon the skills that he learns is school. This book is very helpful as he is able to work on the problems on his own and check the answers for the ones he gets wrong. The answers are clear and concise. This is not a textbook, which is a good thing as my son prefers to work through problems rather than read a textbook.

A thorough introduction By Paul Magnussen Mr Koster — a New Yorker — is (like myself) a former pupil of Mario Escudero, and since 1965 has had a lengthy career of concerts, broadcasts and teaching in the United States, Spain and Japan.The present work, along with Volumes 2 & 3, was previously published by AIG Music. The author has taught from it for several years, but in this form it is now out of print. With its republication by Mel Bay, Mr Koster has (he tells me) taken the opportunity of correcting various misprints, revising the text (including the restoration of some passages deleted by the previous publishers), and adding fingerings and fingerboard diagrams. (The last-named are especially helpful in showing when particular chord-shapes should be held.)PREREQUISITESLike many other Flamenco guitar methods, this one assumes a basic grounding in finger-style guitar (of the order of one to two years' playing). All the examples are presented in staff-notation and tablature; I suppose one could in theory manage by copying the timing from the accompanying CD, but the ability to read would be a definite plus.CONTENTAfter enthusiastic forewords from Pepe Romero and Eliot Fisk come explanations of the notation, plus notes on the guitar, playing position, fingernails and the cejilla (capo). The tutor proper then explains compás and rasgueado, and passes from easy strumming patterns in the forms farruca, soleares, alegrías and tangos, to rasgueado versions of the same.We then move to simple thumb and arpeggio falsetas, along with explanations of the different sections of a flamenco composition (llamada, escobilla, etc.). Other rhythms covered include verdiales, rosas, siguiriyas and bulerías, with examples drawn from the simpler falsetas of Sabicas, Mario, Ricardo, Diego del Gastor and Lucía. Further techniques described include the golpe (tap) and alzapúa (strumming with the thumb).Towards the end there are some intelligent notes on the vexed question of how best to notate bulerías (to start on beat 1 or on beat 12, that is the question).THE CDThe accompanying CD is properly treated as a didactic aid rather than as a recital. The playing is clean and accurate, at appropriate speeds (both slow and fast), and with interpolated comments as required.But above all, simple though they are, the examples all sound like real Flamenco.PRESENTATIONThe most obvious improvement over the old edition is the nice photo of the author on the cover of the new one. But the thing that impressed me most was the exhaustive thoroughness of the fingerings, for both right and left hands — nothing has been left to chance. In addition, the compás count is indicated for most of the pieces.The old version was, however, spiral bound to open flat, which the new one is not. Still, I was able to flatten it with a minimum of brute force.SUMMARYIf most of the above terms are gibberish to you — as they may well be, if you're a beginner to Flamenco and thus in the market for this book — don't worry. This is an excellent introduction to the flamenco guitar. I particularly like the fact that the aims of the book — and with them its size and cost — have been kept modest, while still establishing a firm and thorough foundation to be built on in the subsequent volumes.If you're a teacher of classical guitar then, and your students express an interest in learning the basics of Flamenco, this would be a fine starting point.Recommended.

Gareth Morgan opens our eyes to a remarkable range of scientific 'facts' which we take for granted including global warning, black holes, relativity, holes in the ozone layer and many more concepts which are accepted without question by academia. You can dip into this book at any time and come away with re-awakened interest. Even if you only read topics which interest you, you will be intrigued and enlightened. It is very readable and has none of the jargon which many academics find essential to give their subjects mystique.He will obviously provoke critical comment from readers, that is the concomitance of those who challenge status quo. In reading The Art of Science, I have been so fascinated that I have arranged to meet the author even though he lives in Corfu whereas I live in England.

Unique, satisfying and well researched By Joe Scragg This book is unique for me in that it satisfies a number of things; It satisfies a kind of lazy curiosity I have in understanding the world we live in. it also satisfies the cynic in me with a well researched schooling into the ineptitude of science's ivory towers while also proposing alternate lines of thought.Morgan is evidently well versed in rocking the boat and this results in a proposal in the second half of the book that challenges the reader to imagine a better way of living. This image is fantastical and yet unquestionably based in reality, this way of life encompasses better health, more time, a healthier environment, more space and more fun. A status quo achieves nothing but a change requires foresight and this is in considerable depth in this book.

Pot and Kettle Come to Mind By Dylan Burke 'Maybe scientists are hoping you won't find out quite how dumb they are...'Had this book been marketed as non-fiction or fantasy then perhaps it might have been amusing, in a way counting tiles on the ceiling can be amusing if you're stuck in the doctor's waiting room.The inaccuracies in the chapter on AIDS, as well as the poorly-argued chapter on religion - only a dullard would be surprised that atheists enjoy Christmas carols: the music is great even if the lyrics are dodgy - put me off reading any further. The sweeping description of scientists in the book's blurb just shows the author's immaturity.Non-fiction requires expertise on the part of the author, and credentials. You wouldn't buy a book on medicine written by a truck driver. Or one that repeats 'they found' but doesn't bother to tell us who 'they' are.Oh, and for your information, Mr. Morgan, footnotes are a sign that you've done your research. People still do read them. As for Google being an accurate source, now you do show your ignorance: the web can hardly be called a reliable source of hard information.I wish I could give this book minus stars. I'll give it one star for the accomplishment of finishing a book; unfortunate that it's badly-written drivel.

They really made me think about what the author was contemplating when he wrote these quotes and how so many of them have multiple meanings...very interesting book! I can see why the author states the original book, "Mentor Me" is "...the crossroads and convergence of where science, metaphysics, religion, and utopian society intersect." I can't wait to read the original book and look for these themes in a seemingly simple self help book...brilliant!

About the Author

Thomas S. Blanton is Director of the National Security Archive in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Harvard University, his writing has won the George Polk Award for "piercing self-serving veils of government secrecy, guiding journalists in search for the truth, and informing us all."

Hodding Carter III is a professor of leadership and public policy at the University of North Carolina. A longtime reporter, he worked for the Carter administration, served as president of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and won four Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow Award for his work with PBS.

David Cole is the Hon. George J. Mitchell Professor in Law and Public Policy at Georgetown University Law Center where he teaches constitutional law, national security, and criminal justice. He is also the legal affairs correspondent for The Nation, and a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books.

Ronald Goldfarb is a veteran Washington, D.C. attorney and the author of thirteen books including In Confidence: When to Protect Secrecy and When to Require Disclosure (2009). He worked in the Department of Justice during the Kennedy administration, served as trial counsel for the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps, acted as special counsel to a congressional investigation, and chaired a federal review of the Department of Labor.

Jon Mills is dean emeritus, professor of law, and director of Center for Governmental Responsibility at the University of Florida's Fredric G. Levin College of Law. He has served in the Florida Legislature and has appeared in courts nationwide arguing on topics such as voting rights and constitutional law.

Barry Siegel is a Professor of English at the University of California Irvine and the Director of the University of California Irvine Literary Journalism Program. A longtime correspondent for the Los Angeles Times, he is the author of Manifest Injustice (2013) and has won numerous journalistic accolades including the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing.

Edward Wasserman is dean of the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkley. He holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Paris, and a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. He lectures widely on matters of media policy and practice.

A Great Book for Summer Reading and Every Season Thereafter By Harvey Rosenwasser The writing and publication of this seminal book, just at the time when Congress is debating changes to the Patriot Act, political figures are commenting on Snowden’s revelations, and the public is outraged over the loss of privacy, shows impeccable timing. Reading it was a civics lesson on the relationships between the branches of our government: legislative, executive, judicial and the importance of the press. It should be required reading in colleges.

Each had cogent arguments and well crafted points. I had recently watched the Oscar Winning Documentary which made this even more interesting as I had just that little bit of extra background on the players. I think I would recommend this to several of our book discussion groups, as I certainly wanted to talk about the opinions and facts raised in these essays.*I received my copy through NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

We wish Madriani would stick with the courtroom By Jerry Bull Martini’s booklist approaches 20 in number, about two-thirds of which feature defense attorney Paul Madriani, as with “Enemy”. While one of these early novels, “Undue Influence”, is one of our all-time favorite books, most of these tales have problems that eventually leave us cold. Like the just prior 12th entry in the Madriani set, “Trader of Secrets”, #13 herein is really not a legal thriller at all – rather, we have Madriani and partner Harry Hines chasing all over the country and then Switzerland, pursuing money-hiding schemes by prominent politicians and their ilk. The hunt only bears tangentially on the premise of the whole book, which was that a reporter doing a story on a famous person winds up killing her in a car wreck in which he has no knowledge at all of the event. While that “hook” got our attention, most of the rest was so complicated, and so boring, that eventually all we cared about was getting to the lukewarm finale.Last time we threatened to give up on Madriani, and this latest convinces us to do so. We might try another of Martini's standalone novels of suspense, but as far as we’re concerned, Madriani, who is supposed to be a lawyer, not an “action figure”, is toast.

The publishers had some nerve charging what they did for an ebook, especially one that does not deliver. Mr. Martini has clearly lost his touch. This is billed as a Paul Madriani novel, but there is very little of Paul in this book. It's all background stuff on the banking world and doesn't do much but ramble on and on and never gets to the point. Save your money and let's hope that if Mr. Martini writes another Paul Madriani book that it actually contains Paul Madriani. This book was just boring beyond belief.

About the Author Matthew Morris has worked with the Oracle database since 1996 when he worked in the RDBMS support team for Oracle Support Services. Employed by Oracle for over eleven years in support and development positions, Matthew was an early adopter of the Oracle Certified Professional program. He was one of the first one hundred Oracle Certified Database Administrators (version 7.3) and was also in the first hundred to become an Oracle Certified Forms Developer. In the years since, he has upgraded his Database Administrator certification for releases 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g, and 12c; become an Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional; added the Expert certifications for Application Express, Oracle SQL, and Oracle SQL Tuning, as well as the Specialist certification for Oracle Linux 6. Matthew is an experienced Database Administrator and PL/SQL developer and has been creating Web applications with Oracle Application Express since the early days of its release. He is currently employed as a Database Engineer with Computer Sciences Corporation developing enterprise applications.

By Tvan An OCP prep guide without any sample questions for reviewing covered materials. The author separately sells exam questions at his web site, but the problem is that you can only have one attempt to try out the questions there. You would be better off from googling each exam topics from the internet and read Oracle doc.
