It does a fine job blending academic theory with a practitioner’s penchant for useful applications, delivering Python code all the way to guide the reader along his / her journey. I have not worked all of the examples yet, but I am looking forward to doing so – especially the sections that use Hadoop & Python together.

It is detailed and highly informative.My own publishing experience, not as involved with more frequent publications, has been in annual magazine-type publications for regional markets. I've always done the editorial and design parts of the process myself. An independent sales representative and web-offset printer (for production of glossy, full-color printing) have been my only associates. I've used my own Mac computers and off-the-shelf software (Adobe(tm) InDesign® and Photoshop®), and all work was done in a home office. A Fine addition, covers pretty much everything GET THE PRINT VERSION By Bobbi Schulz-Bragg You may see people gripe about books like these, saying the book doesn't cover this or that, or is too 'basic' or such. Truth is, there are SO many variables and unique situations you will encounter when starting any business, and magazine publishing is a weird animal. Ms. Phillips does a fine job putting her years of experience -- *her* experiences -- into a book that is a nice addition to a magazine start-up's go-to library.If you can, do GET THE PRINT EDITION. The Kindle e-book version renders and flows HORRIBLY, and the few diagrams and images are too small to see. Whoever did the conversion screwed this up royally -- Ms. Phillips deserves better.

The photos are amazing and the family story that goes along with each home warmly draws the reader in and makes you feel you've met a new friend. Allison has a special talent that captures her design plan with photos of the "before" and "after" rooms, and her transformations create stylish and comfortable living spaces that everyone can enjoy and gain ideas. There are three sections which offer variety and each story features The Clients, The Challenges and The Design with narrative about the family, pets and their lifestyle. Making silk flower arrangements is strictly a hobby of mine. I rarely pay as much for a book as I did this one, $19.95, because I very often purchase used books. I have never written a review on one of the books I have purchased for flower arranging. I have never had any serious complaints with any of these purchases, until now. This book, "The Language of Flowers" is such a disappointment to me. It is small 9" X 6". With exception to the front cover of this book, it is completely in "black and white" print. And, the black and white colored flower arrangements in this book are not even "distinct" pictures. It is hard to even tell by looking at the arrangements in this book, what kind of flowers are in the arrangement. Anyone that reads my review and also looks at this book, will, without a doubt, agree that my assessment of this book is true and accurate.

In a single sitting, I read through chapter after chapter of the German text without looking at the parallel English translation. Then, I decided to read the parallel English translation to see if I could mentally put it back into German exactly how it appears on the page. This exercise showed me instantly what grammar I actually knew as opposed to what I could merely recognize. There was a big gap. If you use this book right, it will help you bridge that gap. The book is chuck full of grammar, and you will learn it without even realize you are learning it. The free online recording of all the German in the book also is a great feature. If I could give the book 6 stars, I would.

While it is written in a necessarily simple format, the book provides greater insight into the sentence structure and vocabulary of German than any other method I have used in my studies. We first started to read some other books with the Old English type writing and I got a C- in this class because I couldnt understand it. We just started reading Romeo and Juliet and I had the same problem so I bought this book. Boy, did it help me! I got an A in my class! Another feature which I liked was how the layout is put side-by-side so if you have to read during class, you'll be able to know where everyone is and if you dont understand it, just go to the other side.

No Fear is the best Shakespeare Ever By Newbia This is only partially a review of the story, but mostly a review on how much I love the No Fear series. It's SO useful. You have Shakespeare on one page, and the 'translation' into modern English on one page. I understand Shakespeare so much better now. I thought I understood Shakespeare when I read version where you have a footnote at the bottom saying what 'grandshire phrase' or something means. I did get the gist of it, but now I understand what the characters are saying and feeling, and I get all the little jokes. I can appreciate Shakespeare now, which was impossible before (then again, I'm only 12, it's probably easier for other people).Not to mention in other versions I would read a little bit, glance down at the footnotes, read, glance down, re-read to find the word in the footnote, et cetera and it was very tedious. Now I just read a page of Shakespeare and then a page of modern, or vice versa. I do vice versa because then I understand how the character feels before reading the lines out loud, making this version very useful for putting on the play.There is one problem. In most editions, you have various essays and notes. They don't have this in here. I don't take of stars for this because I personally never read the essays, but some people might.Anyway, the story itself. Shakespeare is very poetic, and you can appreciate it more if you know what he's talking about. How ever, I hate 'love at first sight' with a burning passion. If you get over that, the characters and plot are engaging.I read this because I was in the play. But this edition is so good I'm going to read other Shakespeare plays for my own enjoyment.

Great Kindle Version By MsEnglishTeacher I am a high school English teacher looking at the different versions of classics texts available for Kindle (fire), so my review will not be for the play itself, but rather for the eBook--readability, layout, price, and other features.This version of Romeo and Juliet is my favorite 99 cent version for several reasons. First, there are links to each act and scene. Next, the page layout is clean and easy to read with spaces between each speaker. Finally, the line formatting is in the correct iambic pentameter format, though there are no line numbers. There are no annotations or explanations, but none of the good 99 cent versions provide that either. Bottom line, easy to use!

But I wouldn't know for sure because it's unreadable in the Kindle version. It seems like this book was converted from a .jpg file because you can only enlarge the pages by double tapping as if it were a photo. There is no "spread and pinch" on a page as normal. The type is so small you can hardly see it. Once you double tap the page to make it larger, you have to scroll from side to side to actually read it. You can't turn your Kindle sideways because the page doesn't adjust.I'm sure it's not the author's fault. Either Amazon or the publisher, whomever converted the book to Kindle format, screwed it up.Do not buy the Kindle version. Stick with the dead tree version, it'll save your eyes from a lot of strain.UPDATE - Feb. 20, 2016: (I updated the original 1 Star rating to reflect the new version of the book). So I contacted Amazon Customer Service and got a refund for the horrible Kindle version of the book. I went ahead and bought the paperback - what a difference! The book is very well laid out and you can work through it at your own pace. It explains the concepts very clearly and has plenty of songs with TAB in DAd and DAA tunings.One thing I find kind of funny is that the author keeps referring to the book as the "Whole Dulcimer Handbook" which is so '60s. There was a popular book published in the late '60s called the "Whole Earth Catalog," which this is trying to emulate I guess. This book is probably an updated version of an older edition. Still, the information on how to play the Dulcimer hasn't changed much and is still applicable to today'splaying styles.Buy this book in paperback if you want to learn to play the Dulcimer, or if you want to learn chording or fingerstyle playing. Stay away form the Kindle version until the publisher figures out how to convert older publications to Mobi files correctly.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a scam (the book is printed on demand when you order it), but you might. It's mostly a checklist of things to consider. The advice seems good. It is consistent with what I have learned for free from YouTube videos. But don't expect to start boondocking after you read this. You need to research power sources (solar, batteries, shore power, propane/diesel generators) and you have to research your appliances (A/C, heat, fridge, microwave, stove, various pumps, lights, TV, electronics). What kind of toilet do you want? Do you want to be out in freezing weather? Wi-Fi? Cell data? Satellite? How many travelers? Guests? Then you have to watch all the vendor YouTube tours and carefully consider floorplans. You want the smallest RV that you can live in the maximum amount of time you want to be out with all the amenities you have deemed essential. Then rent one. These are all issues glossed over in this pamphlet.

Has several great suggestions you should consider knowing about. As a owner of a older travel trailer I like to hitch up and travel around California. The wonder of looking out your window as you sitting a meal and seeing a new place can be so enjoyable. The advice in this will be of great help for beginners and even people who already know most of the advice, sometimes it's good to sometimes refresh yourself every so often. I suggest one thing if you have room for it. I built a narrow pantry in my kitchen area that can hold things. It's mounted to a wall with brackets for support. All I need when traveling is light weight strap to hold in things. It's covered in a nice print curtain I made.

Why?Now you are ready for the rest of the story...Most of the tips provided are indeed mere common sense or are otherwise easily obtained in a google or google search. Yet, the accompanying photographs and the straightforward discussion is refreshing and eliminates the need to sift through hundreds of web pages.Unlike a short (21 page) booklet I reviewed earlier today, this does have several good tips and advice that might not be so easily understood if one is sifting through those other sites.Having stated to virtues, there are a couple of constructive suggestions to improve the usefulness of this presentation.1 - Provide photographs of the sorts of troubles one might want to beware of, and of the good examples.2 - Provide photographs of some of the devices, such as tarps, water hoses and so forth. I do have, and am quite interested in growing herbs in little pots out the front though. I love cooking and your meals taste that much better when you can grow some things yourself. Im always on the lookout for good books on the subject and "getting your garden ready for spring" has some great tips...especially on growing vegetables and herbs, where to plant, in what soil, sunlight etc. Highly recommended!

My first attempt ended with my plants being infected with fungi. That won't stop me, though. This book tells me what I'm doing wrong, and the techniques I could use to make things right. It turns out, creating a garden plan will really help. Having a properly laid out garden is also key in preventing weeds. Very glad I bought this book. It'll take some time, but hopefully I'll be on my way to expanding a lasting garden.

About the Author
Rich Maltzman, PMP, has been an engineer since 1978 and a project management supervisor since 1988, including a two-year assignment in The Netherlands in which he built a team of project managers overseeing deployments of telecom networks in Europe and the Middle East. His project work has been diverse, including projects such as the successful deployment of the entire video and telecom infrastructure for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, and the 2006 integration of the program management offices (PMOs) of two large merging corporations. As a second, but intertwined career, Rich has also focused on consulting and teaching.
Rich’s educational background includes a BSEE from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an MSIE from Purdue University. In addition, Rich has a mini-MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a master’s certificate in international business management granted jointly from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and INSEAD of France. Rich received his PMP in 2000 and was certified by Change Catalysts as a CQ Certified Change Management Professional in 2015.
Dave Shirley, PMP, has been an instructor and consultant, with more than 30 years of experience in management and project management, in the corporate, public, and small-business arenas. He is currently a graduate faculty member of Boston University, teaching courses in project management and developing and teaching Green IT. He developed, directed, and taught a project management certification program at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He previously taught graduate courses in corporate social responsibility for Southern New Hampshire University Online and project management at New England College. Dave has presented papers on project management and sustainability at conferences in Costa Rica, Mexico, and the United States.
Dave’s educational background includes a BA in geology from Windham College, Putney, Vermont, and an honors MBA from Monmouth University in Long Branch, New Jersey. He also holds master’s certificates in project management from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey, and American University in Washington, DC, and is certified as a project management professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Trautlein, Ph.D., author of Change Intelligence and Principal of Change Catalysts, LLC Change is tough. And although project managers are themselves change managers – by definition, leaders of change, they sometimes have difficulties accepting change, especially to the discipline of project management. What authors Rich Maltzman and Dave Shirley have done in this book is to identify a key change that project managers need to adopt – that is, the ability to think beyond their project’s end-date – and to provide them with the broader view of their project. But they didn’t stop there. They identify the change, explain how to get the change made, and even provide a tool kit to see how well their enterprise can support them in making the change. As a person who has studied change intelligence, I can say that this is a vital book for any organization and to you as a project, program, or portfolio manager.
