Roten I cannot speak to the quality of this printing; the copy I have is a paperback edition published in the late 1960s.What I can say, is that I do not know of ANY more authoritative or complete reference on Bessel functions. During the time I spent as a physics undergrad and a mathematics graduate student, I consulted Watson before I'd consult Abramowitz and Stegun or the Bateman Manuscript Project.

Great book, bad printing By Heng Sun I would not comment on this classic book since if you get here, you must know this famous book on Bessel functions. I cannot give anything lower than 5 stars for the contents.The quality of this particular printing is really bad, at least for the copy I bought. Many formulas are hard or even impossible to read. For example, the dividing lines in many fractions are not printed out. You must guess which letter (English or Greek) you are reading in a formula, especially if it is a sub/super script. This priting is really cheap. But I cannot use this as a reference. So I returned the book.
