While I purchased it for a fun Scandi-study for my three kids over Christmas break, I have devoured it for so many more reasons. It's fun, hip and historical. Gives great insight into the culture and there's something for everyone. Highly recommend the book Fika to go with it, as we worked in a Fika break every day for fun.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Nice Book By Rene Prem "Nordicana" can be nicely used as a table book. A reader can get some knowledge about some of the Nordic Icons. However, it over-emphasizes a bit the world of contemporary actresses and actors while it leaves out some of the great personalities and contributions of Nordic Europe (e.g., people like Alfred Nobel and his contributions, some great Olympic Athletes from the North, the origin of some of the winter sports, now Olympic disciplines, the influence of Nordic architecture, cooking and lifestyle in North America and in other parts of the world, etc.).
