I felt overwhelmed when I tried to use photoshop, but this book helped me how to use the program and confidently understand the use of the various features it offers. From learning how to crop to using different filters, and dealing with the layers, this book explain it all in detail, but in a way that's simple and easy to follow.

But all these reviewers said how great it was, so maybe it is still good.OK, there is no index. That's a definite strike against it, but it still might have some redeeming features.But then I start to read it. It is basically unusable. It just lists all the features and explains what they do. But many of these features were not appearing when I opened up Photoshop. What should I do? Well, don't expect Andrew (a book a month) McKinnon to tell you how. I had to do a web search to figure it out. There is a reason why this book costs less than half the price of the other Photoshop books: it is worth almost nothing.I started the book today and I have already ordered a real book on this subject. I want a book with decent graphics and one that will walk me through the steps I need to take to do the typical things PS does. I will just be throwing this book in book in the garbage. I am gradually reaching the conclusion that the amazon review process is reaching the point where it might cause more harm than good. I can partially understand. Why waste my time writing a thoughtful, point-by-point explanation of how bad this book really is? Better to just watch adobe videos while I wait for my real PS book to arrive in two days.
