Chris has coached and mentored many of today’s most successful direct response copywriters.In Pricing Basics for Copywriters & Consultants, part of My Chris Notes Series, she provides crucial information for writers and entrepreneurs to help bolster their bottom line.A key point which surprised me, in The Pricing Basics for Copywriters & Consultants, was that many copywriters often don’t really look at their entire business as a serious endeavor. Top management in major corporations is always analyzing just about everything to determine how to do things better, and at a lower cost. How many of us copywriters do the same thing or even sit down to just look at our client profitability? At the end of a project, did I really get the amount of money for my time I thought I did? Chris discusses this and even gives us a tool to help us see for ourselves how our clients stack up.Lots of golden nuggets in this book that can be used today! I’m ready to jump into the next one!

Particularly useful is Chris' instructions to go where the money is. I made the mistake earlier in my freelance career of trying to work with anybody who said they needed help. And promised to pay. Of course, they never did. Or very little.She has a diagram of a pyramid in the book which shows the "sweet spot" when looking for work as a copywriter. It shows the size of company with number of employees to qualify a company before making contact.I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling to price their services as a freelance copywriter. And feel good about charging what your worth.

Wasser For many years, Chris Marlow has set the gold standard for determining how the market prices the work of copywriters. The information is not only useful for copywriters, but for their clients as well. No longer does a copywriter have to guess that his proposal is fair; nor does a marketing director have to wonder whether she's paying a fair rate or through the nose. Chris's information is all empirically derived, so there's no guess work here. An invaluable professional source!
