In order to engage the interest of the reader, I have in the earlier chapters dwelt on the perspective the hypothesis of a fourth dimension opens, and have treated of the many connections there are between this hypothesis and the ordinary topics of our thoughts.A lack of mathematical knowledge will prove of no disadvantage to the reader, for I have used 110 mathematical processes of reasoning. I have taken the view that the space which we ordinarily think of, the space of real things (which I would call permeable matter), is different from the space treated of by mathematics. Mathematics will tell us a great deal about space, just as the atomic theory will tell us a great deal about the chemical combinations of bodies. A poor photo copy of a good book By A Customer I was amazed when after purchasing this book from what I thought was a reputable source, Amazon, I received a rather grainy, nearly unreadable PHOTOCOPY of the book in a binding. The book's 5"x 7" pages were photocopied onto 8.5" x 11" paper, without zoom, partially skewed and with many drop outs in the text, then bound and passed off as a "paperback". Beware; you are not getting what's in the picture when you order this item.

By Steve Reina Charles Hinton was and remains the great apostle of the fourth dimension.In that sense, his writings are uniquely critical to a proper historical appreciation of the fourth dimension. However, as an explanation of how to visualize it, I find myself agreeing with Rudy Rucker in his Geometry Relativity and the Fourth Dimension wherein he said that the exercises laid out by Hinton were less than helpful to him personally in visualizing the fourth dimension.For the best treatment on obtaining this visualization I would recommend Choas Coincidence and All that Math Jazz by Burger and Starbird. Also, the companion book to this The Fourth Dimension Simply Explained has many helpful essays that repeat essentially the same message. Yet another good book is Clifford Pickover's Surfing Through Hyperspace which among other things tells you where to find cool Fourth Dimension toys (including Legos!) and other items to assist in visualizing the fourth dimensional perspective.Even I attempted to make the fourth dimension comprehensible in my review of the Fourth Dimension Simply Explained.All that being said, as indicated, Hinton remains key to a proper appreciation of the history of the fourth dimension.Like any new gadget or idea, perhaps Hinton was ultimately guilty over applying the fourth dimension. And largely, Einstein Minkowski ideas on the fourth dimension now perhaps more properly denominate its study but again Hinton was and remains interesting reading.

The arguments made here still have not been answered in any fundamental way and are therefore still as fresh as the day they were written.

Next spring I get to visit and can't wait to eat at some of the restaurants and visit the tourist attractions that were mentioned in this book. It really has everything so your trip will be jam packed with everything from the great beaches to what is a must see in England.

My wife and I love to travel, and I learned a long time ago that having a written travel guide is an awesome thing to have to go by. England is definitely a place that I would like to travel to, and that's why I wanted this book. It has definitely shown me many of the things that I would like to see while we are there, especially the historic landmarks that have some up in my studies of history. An academic exercise in Statistical Economics By Bill Swan When I ordered this book I was hoping that it might shed some light on the share market cycles in addition to the rainfall cycles in Ohio in the US. Whilst I am sure that it is accurate with respect to the rainfall analysis it provided absolutely nothing of assistance with share market cycles instead heading off into some nebulus integral calculus that really does not show how the thesis was arrive at.From my perspective it is okay but not of much use.

I tried it myself when I was battling anxiety.This book is an overview of the therapy and its benefits. It gets a little repetitive in places and I don't agree with everything the author says about it. I would rather that he stuck with the scientifically proven facts, but he did wrote some of his opinions and points There is nothing wrong with that, it is his book, but I prefer it the other way. All in all, a good book if you are interested in CBT and you want to get some simple information that is readable.

The power lies in the fact that we have reasons for the things we do and if we explore these reasons and remove the bricks from them, the entire issue quickly have a way of resolving themselves and without the drugs. The best part as this book explores is that this works for everyone. It can be applied to mood disorders or depression. The best part is that it contains the mechanisms to prevent relapse as well if you are practicing this skill daily!

I loved reading all the stories of all the ways non-quilters inspired quilters to be creative and even break some "rules" to create a project that is as much them as their inpiration's. I don't know that I will make any of the patterns in the book (although they are all well written and put together), but I think I absolutely will be more open to collaborate with the non-quilter's in my life.

This book is such a gift and inspiration to the reader. It is a pleasure to read how each quilter develops the concepts and meaning for their quilts. Definitely a "keeper" and one that I will refer to often.

About the Author

Bruce Wingerd is a member of the Biology Department at National University in San Diego, California. Previously, he has held teaching/administrative positions at Edison State College (now called Florida Southwestern), Broward College, and San Diego State University. His degrees are in the fields of zoology and physiology, and he has taught courses in medical terminology, human anatomy, advanced human anatomy, and anatomy and physiology for more than 30 years. He has written numerous textbooks, lab manuals, and multimedia learning resources in medical terminology, human anatomy, anatomy and physiology, histology, and comparative mammalian anatomy. His goal in teaching and writing is to provide students with learning tools that will help them reach their potential through education. He enjoys counseling students in the health sciences, developing novel approaches to teaching and learning, and leading faculty in the drive for excellence in education.

While it is difficult to make specific design suggestions because every house and room is different, he does exactly that in order to best illustrate the principles. Covers the very basic details and the fundamentals as well as can be done in such a quick read.

I now believe in the ancient practice of Feng Shui By matt This is a really good read.The principles of Feng Shui were absolutely foreign to me before reading this book. It really helped me to get a good understanding on Feng Shui. This ancient tradition and practice is regarded as superstition in my professional circle, but honestly after learning more about it I have to admit it just makes sense to me. I thought back to when I had difficulties in my life and sure enough the places I was spending most of my time were absolute Feng Shui nightmares.In comparison my home now has a very positive energy and flows very well. I arranged my home before reading this book so I guess I was just lucky. However I do recognize the effect Feng Shui has made for me in my home and after reading this book I am going to make some small adjustments that I am sure will increase the Chi or flow of energy in my home.

It was a great relief to get rid of the clutter, get everything organized, and sell the things I didn't need any more. I love my house a whole lot better now. This book is filled with great ideas of where to place items and how to place them for greater harmony within the home. Highly recommended.
